1. A method for processing a signal to identify a consistent portion of the signal, comprising:

  • obtaining a photoplethysmograph (PPG) signal from a sensor;

    selecting, using a processor, a current portion of the PPG signal for analysis;

    identifying, using the processor, one or more signal peaks in the current portion of the PPG signal;

    processing, using the processor, the one or more signal peaks based on a consistency metric;

    comparing, using the processor, the processed one or more signal peaks to the consistency metric to determine if the current portion of the PPG signal is consistent;

    responsive to determining that the current portion of the PPG signal is consistent,generating, using the processor, a wavelet transform based at least in part on the current portion of the PPG signal; and

    determining, using the processor, one or more parameters based at least in part on the wavelet transform; and

    responsive to determining that the current portion of the PPG signal is not consistent, selecting, using the processor, a next portion of the PPG signal for analysis.
