1. A magnetic attachment system, comprising:
- a first magnetic structure comprising a first plurality of magnetic sources having a first polarity pattern, said first plurality of magnetic sources including a first magnetic source having a first magnetic field strength and a second magnetic source having a second magnetic field strength, said second magnetic field strength being substantially twice said first magnetic field strength; and
a second magnetic structure comprising a second plurality of magnetic sources having a second polarity pattern, said second plurality of magnetic sources including a third magnetic source having a third magnetic field strength and a fourth magnetic source having a fourth magnetic field strength, said first magnetic field strength being the same as said third magnetic field strength, said second magnetic field strength being the same as said fourth magnetic field strength, said first magnetic structure being complementary to said second magnetic structure, said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure producing a peak attract force when in an alignment position, said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure producing a plurality of off-peak forces when in a corresponding plurality of non-alignment positions, wherein each magnetic source of said first plurality of magnetic sources and of said second plurality of magnetic sources have one of a first vector direction or a second vector direction that is opposite said first vector direction.

Abstract
An improved magnetic attachment system is provided that involves field emission structures having electric or magnetic field sources. The magnitudes, polarities, and positions of the magnetic or electric field sources are configured to have desirable correlation properties, which may be in accordance with a code. The correlation properties correspond to a desired spatial force function where spatial forces between field emission structures correspond to relative alignment, separation distance, and the spatial force function.
