Abstract

A machine-implemented social networking system includes a hierarchy tree containing topic nodes. New nodes are added as new topics emerge in online public forums. Each topic node can link to an on-topic real time chat room whose occupants are currently discussing the topic of the node. A node-seeking automated process operates in the background and seeks out nodes that currently have topics appearing to be the same as or similar to what topics the user appears to have in mind. Content browsing experience of the user is enhanced by addition of an invitations displaying subsystem that automatically invites him or her to co-compatible chat rooms currently discussing the topic(s) the user appears to have in mind.

Claims

1. A non-abstract machine system that is structured to automatically present as first presentations to a first user of the system, user-acceptable invitations to join in on telecommunications-mediated information exchange forums and/or to automatically present in the first presentations to the first user, user-acceptable suggestions of additional telecommunications-conveyed informational content to investigate,

wherein the presented invitations and/or suggestions are based on content that the first user is presented with and are based on automatically repeated determinations by the machine system of what specific sub-portion or specific sub-portions of the presented content the first user more recently centered his or her attention upon, wherein the automatically repeated determinations regarding attention are carried out transparently by the machine system without need for diverted centering of attention by the user directed to aiding the automatically repeated transparent determinations by the machine system,

the machine system comprising:

a presentation format controller that determines or controls at least one of;

whether or not a given user-acceptable invitation or user-acceptable suggestion is presented to the first user;

when a given first presentation is presented;

what order of presentation is used for multiple ones of the first presentations;

at what rate multiple ones of the first presentations are automatically presented; and

in what format are the given one or multiple ones of the first presentations automatically presented to the first user;

wherein at least a portion of the machine system includes a data processing machine, and

wherein said automatically determined and more recent centerings of attention by the first user occurred no more than at least one of;

3 hours prior to said presentation of the first presentations to the first user; and

a determined time duration prior to said presentation of the first presentations to the first user, the determined time duration being determined based on a currently active profile characterizing the first user.

2. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the presentation format controller includes an invitations display generator that produces a circular and/or banner-like image in a display region of a display available to the first user, the produced image having icons representing recommended invitations and/or recommended suggestions of additional informational content, where the icons include first icons representing more strongly recommended ones of the invitations and/or more strongly recommended ones of the suggestions, and where the icons include second icons different from the first icons and representing less strongly recommended invitations and/or less strongly recommended suggestions.

3. The machine system of claim 2 wherein:

the first icons are presented in a first portion of the display region;

the second icons are presented in a different second portion of the display region; and

the first portion of the display region that has the first icons is positioned substantially centrally in the display region thus causing the first icons to be positioned more centrally in the display region than are the second icons.

4. The machine system of claim 3 wherein:

the more strongly recommended invitations and/or more strongly recommended suggestions respectively include more recently recommended invitations and more recently recommended suggestions whereas the less strongly recommended invitations and/or less strongly recommended suggestions respectively include older invitations and older suggestions.

5. The machine system of claim 2 wherein:

the more strongly recommended invitations and/or more strongly recommended suggestions respectively include recommended invitations and recommended suggestions that have been automatically determined by the machine system to be more on-topic with a topic apparently currently on the first user'"'"'s mind whereas the less strongly recommended invitations and/or less strongly recommended suggestions respectively are ones that have been automatically determined by the machine system to be less on-topic with a topic apparently currently on the first user'"'"'s mind.

6. The machine system of claim 2 wherein:

the first icons corresponding to the more strongly recommended invitations and/or more strongly recommended suggestions are respectively formatted to be displayed as larger than and/or more bold and/or more colorful and/or dynamically changing than the second icons corresponding to the less strongly recommended invitations and/or the less strongly recommended suggestions.

7. The machine system of claim 2 wherein:

the presentation format controller is configured to receive signals representing invitations and/or suggestions from an automated creator of such invitations and/or suggestions; and

the presentation format controller includes a sorter and rater that sorts and rates recently received invitations and/or suggestions into more strongly and more weakly recommended ones based on how closely in a topic space the received invitations and/or suggestions are relative to a current determination of what topic apparently is currently on the first user'"'"'s mind.

8. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the first presentations include automatically presented invitations to information exchange forums which forums include or have further invited thereto, one or more persons who are topically contemporaneous strangers to the first user, where such topically contemporaneous strangers are persons not known to the first user to contemporaneously have substantially same topics of focus or of interest in their minds as a relatively current topic of focus or of interest that the first user is determined by the machine system to more likely than not have in mind, and

the one or more topically contemporaneous strangers are predetermined by the machine system to contemporaneously and more likely than not have substantially same topics of focus or of interest in their minds as the relatively current topic of focus or of interest that the first user is predetermined by the machine system to likely have in his or her mind;

wherein said likely topics of focus or of interest are determined by the machine system based on specific sub-portions of respective firstly presented content that the first user and the one or more persons respectively centered their attention upon.

9. The machine system of claim 8 wherein formation of said predeterminations of the likelihoods that the one or more topically contemporaneous strangers have or had substantially same topics of focus or interest in their minds as a relatively current topic of focus or interest that the first user is likely have in his or her mind is carried out by remote servers or by a cloud with which a local portion of the machine system, which is local to the first user, is cooperatively intertwined.

10. The machine system of claim 8 wherein said contemporaneousness of substantially same topics of focus or of interest in the minds of the topically contemporaneous strangers and in the mind of the first user occurs in an immediately preceding and predetermined time period that is chronologically adjacent to when a corresponding invitation is presented to the first user.

11. The machine system of claim 8 wherein said preceding predetermined time period is not more than one week before a corresponding invitation is presented to the first user.

12. The machine system of claim 8 wherein said preceding predetermined time period is not more than three hours before a corresponding invitation is presented to the first user.

13. The machine system of claim 8 wherein said preceding predetermined time period is not more than one hour before a corresponding invitation is presented to the first user.

14. The machine system of claim 8 wherein said preceding predetermined time period is not more than 5 minutes before a corresponding invitation is presented to the first user.

15. The machine system of claim 9 wherein the machine system is further structured to automatically present as second presentations to the first user thereof, indications of how many there are within a specified recent time period of said one or more topically contemporaneous strangers having substantially same topics of focus or of interest in their minds.

16. The machine system of claim 8 wherein the presented invitations to information exchange forums include presented invitations to substantially real time information exchange forums.

17. The machine system of claim 8 wherein the presented invitations to information exchange forums include presented invitations to analog transmission mediated information exchange forums.

18. The machine system of claim 8 wherein the presented invitations to information exchange forums include presented invitations to both analog and digital transmission mediated information exchange forums.

19. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the presentation format controller includes a supplemental information provider that, in response to an input action by the first user indicating a request for supplemental information regarding one of the automatically presented invitations that the first user is being invited to accept, automatically provides supplemental information corresponding to the presented invitation.

20. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

said topically contemporaneous strangers include a person who is a stranger to, rather than a friend of the first user.

21. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

said first presentations include presented invitations to information exchange forums and the information exchange forums of the presented invitations include two or more of;

an open-to-the-public chat room, a private chat room, a restricted access blog, a peer-to-peer forum, a forum that sends emails to a predetermined one or more listed recipients, a twitter exchange, a live video conference, a live video web conference, a live voice only conference, a multi-cast-provided cross-exchange of relatively current informational content, a network-provided cross-exchange of relatively current informational content, a broadcast-provided cross-exchange of relatively current informational content, a chat room which is spawned by the machine system, or a moderated online exchange service.

22. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

the first presentations are presented through a substantially stationary computing device currently stationed at a corresponding location and the automatically presented invitations are based on the corresponding location of the substantially stationary computing device.

23. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

the first presentations are presented through a mobile personal computing device having a display screen;

the presentation format controller is configured to enable the first user to selectively hide or minimize visual presentations of the first presentations on the display screen while allowing the first user to later cause the hidden or minimized first presentations to pop out; and

the machine system is able to continue to automatically determine what specific sub-portion or specific sub-portions of firstly presented content the first user centers his or her attention upon while the first presentations are hidden or minimized.

24. The machine system of claim 23 wherein the mobile personal computing device is at least one of:

a palm-top device, a lap-top device, a personal digital assistant device, an intelligent cellphone or another intelligent mobile phone/computing device.

25. The machine system of claim 23 wherein the mobile personal computing device includes an automated location determining apparatus for automatically determining the location of the mobile personal computing device and the presented first presentations are ones chosen as a function of the automatically determined location of the mobile personal computing device.

26. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

the relatively current topic of focus or of interest that the first user is predetermined to likely have in his or her mind is automatically determined based on a plurality of temporally and/or spatially spaced apart items of informational material that the machine system has automatically detected the first user to have been recently focusing upon.

27. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated user activities monitor configured to automatically detect and record machine usage activities of the first user as applied to the machine system, including machine operating activities of the first user that cause one or more first keywords to be submitted in rule-defined stretches of time to a corresponding one or more search engines, the rule-defined stretches of time being specific to the first user and being indicative that the first keywords are likely to be interrelated to a relatively current topic of focus or of interest of the first user, where the first keywords are part of the temporally and/or spatially spaced apart items of informational material that the machine system has automatically detected the first user to have been recently focusing upon.

28. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated user activities monitor configured to automatically detect and record machine usage activities of the first user as applied to the machine system, including machine operating activities of the first user that cause one or more first hyperlinks to be submitted in rule-defined stretches of time to a corresponding network browsing mechanism, the rule-defined stretches of time being specific to the first user and being indicative that the first hyperlinks are likely to be interrelated to a relatively current topic of focus or of interest of the first user.

29. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated user activities monitor configured to automatically detect and record machine usage activities of the first user as applied to the machine system, including attention focusing activities of the first user that identify one or more of presented first universal resource locators (URLs) and/or presented file identifiers and/or their corresponding content as being predominantly focused upon by the first user in rule-defined stretches of time, the rule-defined stretches of time being specific to the first user and being indicative that the focused upon material is likely to be interrelated to a relatively current topic of focus or of interest of the first user.

30. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated detector of implicitly or explicitly focused upon topic hinting data that is implicitly or explicitly focused upon by the first user, where the focused upon topic hinting data is that which does not itself provide on-topic usable information to the first user but is nonetheless that which can provide useful clues or hints about what current topic the first user likely may have in mind.

31. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated user activities monitor configured to automatically detect and record machine usage activities of the first user as applied to the machine system, including recent attention focusing activities of the first user that implicitly identify one or more of invisibly or silently embedded codes of, or concurrently supplied codes associated with, correspondingly presented one or more portions of content that are detected by the automated user activities monitor as being sub-portions of content predominantly focused upon by the first user in rule-defined stretches of time, the rule-defined stretches of time being specific to the first user and being indicative that the focused upon content is likely to be interrelated to a relatively current topic of focus or of interest of the first user.

32. The machine system of claim 31 wherein the presented content includes audio content having silently embedded codes therein or concurrent codes transmitted in a transmission associated with the audio content.

33. The machine system of claim 31 wherein the presented content includes video content having invisibly embedded codes therein or concurrent codes transmitted in a transmission associated with the video content.

34. The machine system of claim 31 wherein the automated user activities monitor is further configured to automatically detect and record other recent activities or sensations of the first user including at least one of:

odors the first user is subjected to;

background sounds the first user is subjected to; and

background lightings the first user is subjected to.

35. The machine system of claim 31 wherein the invisibly or silently embedded codes include at least one of:

a markup code, a meta-tag, a podcast embedded code, a topic-hinting code, a hierarchy navigation code, a search-engine assisting code, an attention-getting code, a popularity engine tag, a subject-matter categorizing code, a hidden comment code, and a content formatting code.

36. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated user activities monitor configured to automatically detect and record machine usage activities of the first user as applied to the machine system, including attention focusing activities of the first user directed to subportions of perceivable content which attention focusing activities include at least one of;

eye focusing activities of the first user;

cursor focusing activities of the first user;

head movement activities of the first user;

body language activities of the first user;

eyeglass frame activities of the first user;

time spent by the first user in apparently listening to related audio content; and

user input device usages of the first user which user input device usages may include one or more of;

keyboarding input focusing activities of the first user;

mouse actuations or mouse movements of the first user;

display scrolling actions caused by the first user through use of a user input device;

temporary highlighting of displayed content as caused by the first user through use of a user input device;

temporary zooming into or zooming back from displayed content as caused by the first user through use of a user input device;

copying of presented content as caused by the first user through use of a user input device;

time spent operating a user input device to thereby view more than one screen-full of presented content; and

rates of input device usage by the first user including for example mouse agitation rates.

37. The machine system of claim 26 wherein the automated user activities monitor is further configured to automatically detect and record indications of intensity or rapidity of emotional involvement concurrently associated with the machine usage activities of the first user.

38. The machine system of claim 37 wherein the automatically detected and recorded indications of intensity or rapidity of emotional involvement include at least one of:

eye blinking activities of the first user;

heart rate of the first user;

breathing rate of the first user;

depth of breathing of the first user;

fidgeting by the first user;

posture of user'"'"'s body;

facial grimaces of the first user;

galvanic skin response of the first user;

hand gesturing by the first user;

blood pressure of the first user;

blushing or paleness of the first user;

skin temperature of the first user;

muscle tensing by the first user;

imagery in an infra-red (IR) range of the first user; and

change of distance between user and display.

39. The machine system of claim 26 and further comprising:

an automated transmitter that transmits a plurality of Current Focus indicating records (CFi records) to a network indicating relatively recent, focus-related activities or focus-related states of the first user, where the transmitted CFi records include;

a report indicating one or more particular machine usage activities of the first user, and

a report indicating one or more biometric or mental states of the first user.

40. The machine system of claim 1 and further comprising:

an automated transmitter that is configured to automatically transmit a plurality of Current Focus indicating records (CFi records) to a network, the transmitted CFi records indicating relatively recent and focus-related machine usage activities or focus-related biometric or mental states of the first user, wherein the transmitted CFi records further include at least one of;

a time stamp indicating when the particular one or more machine usage activities or biometric or mental states of the first user were deemed to have taken place;

a location stamp indicating where the particular one or more machine usage activities or biometric or mental states of the first user were deemed to have taken place;

a machine identification stamp indicating an identification of a particular machine used for producing the indicating report of the at least one transmitted CFi record;

a machine setting stamp indicating a positional orientation and/or other setting of the particular machine used for producing the indicating report of the at least one transmitted CFi record; and

a user identification stamp indicating an identification of the first user.

41. The machine system of claim 39 wherein at least one of the plural focus indicating records includes an indication of one or more particular machine usage activities of the first user, where the indicated usages include identification or transmittal of at least one of:

(a) a sub-portion of a displayed web page that the first user has focused upon;

(b) a snapshot of content included in the focused upon sub-portion that was focused upon by the first user;

(c) a source identifier of network sourced content whose sub-portion was focused upon by the first user;

(d) one or more keywords submitted by the first user to a search engine in conjunction with said focused upon sub-portion;

(e) a sound the first user was at the same time listening to and/or an amount of time spent by the first user listening to such sound in conjunction with said focused upon sub-portion;

(f) a direction of focus of an eye of the first user;

(g) a sub-portion of locally presented content upon which the first user dwelled a cursor of a user interest-indicating device;

(h) one or more hyperlinks clicked on within the focused upon sub-portion of the displayed content the first user has been focused upon;

(i) one or more invisibly or silently embedded codes included within the focused upon sub-portion of the content the first user has been indicated to be focused upon;

(j) a file name associated with the focused upon sub-portion of the focused upon content of the first user;

(k) a sub-portion of presented content, where the sub-portion was uniquely highlighted by the first user;

(l) a sub-portion of presented content, where the sub-portion was uniquely zoomed-in on by the first user;

(m) a sub-portion of presented content, where the sub-portion was uniquely copied by the first user;

(n) user input device usages of the first user; and

(o) background sights, smells and/or sounds to which the first user was exposed in conjunction with focusing upon said focused upon sub-portion.

42. The machine system of claim 39 wherein at least one of the plural focus indicating records includes an indication of one or more biometric states or mental states of the first user that may be associated with the relatively recent, focus-related activities of the first user, where the indicated states include or are based on at least one of:

(a) a staring by the first user beyond a prespecified time upon displayed content and/or the time length of such staring;

(b) increased or decreased heart rate;

(c) increased or decreased breathing rate;

(d) increased or decreased depth of breathing;

(e) increased fidgeting;

(f) unusual skin blushing or paleness;

(g) up-tilted head and diverted eyes while listening to audio;

(h) grimaces, eyebrow lifts, or other facial expressions;

(i) rate of CO2 exhalation;

(j) galvanic skin response;

(k) posture-related weight bearing distribution;

(l) rate of words read per unit of time;

(m) eye dilation;

(n) verbal expressing of profanities or the like;

(o) rate of invitation acceptances by the first user;

(p) reaction time of the first user after being subjected to emotion evoking test content;

(q) eyelid blink rate and/or degree to which eyes are kept open;

(s) distance between head of the first user and content presenting device;

(t) in person social isolation or immersion of the first user;

(u) increased agitation;

(v) engaging in flaming activities where the first user is projecting impolite content to other users in a forum, even if not actually transmitting such flaming content to the others;

(w) unusually high casting of negative votes by the first user;

(x) output of an electromagnetic brain probing device;

(y) body language cues provided by the first user;

(z) emotion or reaction type associated with current or previous content to which the first user is exposed;

(aa) blushing or paleness of the first user;

(bb) skin temperature of the first user;

(cc) muscle tensing by the first user; and

(dd) imagery in an infra-red (IR) range of the first user.

43. The machine system of claim 42 wherein the reported biometric states of the first user are processed by the machine system in accordance with predetermined biometric data processing rules stored in the machine system and logically linked to the first user.

44. The machine system of claim 42 wherein one or more reported mental states of the first user are based on a Personal Emotion Expression Profile (PEEP) stored in the machine system and logically linked to the first user.

45. The machine system of claim 39 and further comprising:

an automated focus report suppressor that automatically suppresses transmission of CFi records reporting on focus by the first user on a sub-portion of prespecified content or reporting on focus by the first user during specified times.

46. The machine system of claim 45 wherein the specified times include times when a global interest monitoring warning icon indicates interest monitoring is globally off.

47. The machine system of claim 45 wherein the prespecified content for which corresponding transmission of CFi records is automatically suppressed includes prespecified to contain confidential material.

48. The machine system of claim 39 and further comprising:

an encryption means that encrypts the at least one of the CFi records before it is transmitted over the network.

49. The machine system of claim 45 wherein the prespecified content that is automatically suppressed from having focus thereon reported by the automatic transmission of CFi records is implied-focused upon content not being currently presented through one or more prespecified windows or frames or devices, where the otherwise reported focus is implied focus that is implied due to a pre-specified nature of the corresponding content, that nature implying that the user earlier intended to currently focus on it and where the nevertheless not-reported-on prespecified content is content that is prespecified as not reportable-on content.

50. The machine system of claim 41 and further comprising:

an automated content upload suppressor that suppresses automated uploading without explicit permission from the first user of content that is designated as originating from a confidential source.

51. The machine system of claim 39 wherein at least one of the transmitted CFi records includes:

an identification at least of one of the first user or of a portion of the machine system that sensed a physical attribute from which the indicated one or more particular machine usage activities of the first user or one or more biometric or mental states of the first user were derived.

52. The machine system of claim 39 wherein at least one of the transmitted CFi records includes:

an identification of a location at least of one of the first user or of a portion of the machine system that sensed a physical attribute from which the indicated one or more particular machine usage activities of the first user or one or more biometric or mental states of the first user were derived.

53. The machine system of claim 39 wherein at least one of the transmitted CFi records includes:

an indication of situational settings surrounding a location of at least of one of the first user or of a portion of the machine system that sensed a physical attribute from which the indicated one or more particular machine usage activities of the first user or one or more biometric or mental states of the first user were derived.

54. The machine system of claim 8 wherein:

the first user and the one or more topically contemporaneous strangers are predetermined by the machine system to have current interaction co-compatibility with one another.

55. The machine system of claim 2 wherein:

the presentations include iconic representations of the invitations and/or of the suggestions where the iconic representations include as part of their graphical content, indications of relative importance of their respective invitations to a relatively current topic of focus or interest that the machine system deems the first user to apparently have.

63. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the presentation format controller includes a member-of on-topic forum information provider that automatically provides usernames of persons other than the first user who are already engaged in an on-topic forum corresponding to a relatively current topic of focus or of interest that the first user is predetermined by the machine system to likely have in his or her mind.

65. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the invitations and/or suggestions are automatically successively presented over time to the first user; and

the presentation format controller is configured to determine or control the rate at which the invitations and/or suggestions are successively presented as a function of at least one of;

a determined mood of the first user;

a predefined rate limit corresponding to a subscription level of the first user;

a machine system determined, information pull rate at which Current focus indicating records (CFi'"'"'s) of the first user are pulled;

a rate at which advertisement sponsors decide to invite different kinds of users that are of interest to the advertisement sponsors to corresponding online forums;

how on-topic the received invitations/suggestions appear to be relative to a topic that machine system determines the first user appears to currently have on his or her mind;

how aged are potentially-to-be presented invitations and/or suggestions relative to when corresponding CFi data was sent out on behalf of the first user for generating the potentially-to-be presented invitations and/or suggestions;

how quickly acceptance by the first user is needed for the received invitations and/or suggestions before the latter become stale;

how busy a local presentation machine of the first user is with higher priority tasks or not;

a rate of CFi'"'"'s servicings that is susceptible to being curtailed due to bandwidth limitations at a CFi'"'"'s servicing center;

an actuation by the first user of faster-rate-requesting flag that indicates the first user wants to be provided with a greater number of new invitations per unit of time;

an actuation by the first user of slower-rate-requesting flag that indicates the first user wants to be provided with a smaller number of new invitations per unit of time; and

a previous rate at which new invitations were presented to the first user.

66. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the presentation format controller is configured to automatically successively present the invitations and/or suggestions over time to the first user; and

the presentation format controller is configured to halt the automatic successive presentation of the invitations and/or suggestions to the first user in response to a switching of an on-screen flag to an off-indicating state.

67. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

the presentation format controller is configured to automatically successively present the invitations and/or suggestions over time to the first user in accordance with a predetermined order; and

the order of presentation is based on at least one of;

a chronological ordering of the presented invitations and/or suggestions; and

which presented invitations and/or suggestions are most highly scored in terms of topic and chat co-compatibility.

68. The machine system of claim 1 wherein the presentation format controller is configured to automatically present the first presentations in at least one of the following formats:

as a scrolling stream of icons;

as a U-shaped flow of moving icons;

as a plurality of first icons moving radially towards a radar screen center and as a plurality of second icons moving away from the radar screen center;

as paired icons, one representing one or more invitations to online forums and the other representing one or more suggestions pointing to additional information related to the invitations; and

as multi-invitation bubbles each containing invitations directed to different levels of expertise in corresponding subject matter.

69. The machine system of claim 68 wherein the presentation format controller is configured to automatically present the first presentations as including icons which can be expanded to reveal a matrix of options including suggestions directed to different levels of expertise in corresponding subject matter and different types of suggestions, the different types including at least one of:

news items, white papers and blogs.

70. The machine system of claim 1 wherein the presentation format controller causes the automatically presented first presentations to be immediately-reactable upon presentations whereby the first user can immediately-react to the first presentations at the time of their presentation and such reaction causes automatic further presentation to the first user of a corresponding telecommunications-mediated information exchange forum or of corresponding additional telecommunications-conveyed informational content.

71. The machine system of claim 1 wherein the presentation format controller is configured to visually position the first presentations as being poppable out of a side edge of a display screen that is accessible to the first user.

72. The machine system of claim 1 wherein the presentation format controller is configured to provide the first user with cues that first presentations worthy of attention are present while the first presentations are hidden or minimized.

73. The machine system of claim 72 wherein the cues regarding first presentations worthy of attention include at least one of:

an alerting light; and

a unique sound pulse.

The machine system of claim 1 wherein while the first presentations are hidden or minimized in such a way that the first user will not become aware of new invitations and/or suggestions, the machine system is configured to temporarily halt generation of new invitations and/or suggestions that the first user will not become aware of.

75. The machine system of claim 1 wherein:

at least one of the first presentations is presentable by way of a display screen;

the presentation format controller is configured to enable the first user to selectively hide or minimize visual presentations of the first presentations presented on the display screen while allowing the first user to later cause the hidden or minimized first presentations to pop out; and

the machine system is able to continue to automatically determine what specific sub-portion or specific sub-portions of firstly presented content the first user centers his or her attention upon while the first presentations are hidden or minimized.

The machine system of claim 75 wherein while the first presentations are hidden or minimized in such a way that the first user will not become aware of new invitations and/or suggestions provided thereby, the machine system is configured to temporarily halt generation of new invitations and/or suggestions that the first user will not become aware of.

the first presentations are automatically presented in an invitations clustering area of a display viewable by the first user; and

a currently active, machine readable and stored Personal Emotion Expression Profile (PEEP) of the first user that indicates a likely current personal style of the first user regarding how the first user likely currently exhibits or expresses emotional reactions to focused upon content and what emotion or emotions the current exhibitions or expression likely indicate;

a currently active, machine readable and stored Current personality-based Chat Compatibility profile (CpCCp) of the first user that can be indicative of a likely co-compatibility of the first user to chat with other similarly profiled persons; and

a currently active, machine readable and stored Domain-specific Chat Compatibility profile (DsCCp) of the first user that can be indicative of a likely one or more topics or topic domains currently being focused upon by the first user.

the at least one of the currently active PEEP, CpCCp and DsCCp on which the invitations and/or the suggestions are based is a selected one of plural such profiles, which selected profile has been selected based on recently collected data regarding the current state and/or surroundings of the first user.

A non-abstract machine system that includes a user-accessible presentation device and is structured to repeatedly automatically cause a flow through the user-accessible presentation device of a stream of presentable and with each of the automatic repeats, more up to date invitations and/or suggestions that have been automatically repeatedly generated in response to automatically repeated detections of recent attention focusing activities of a first user of the machine system on content presented and thus available to the first user, the automatically repeated detections of recent attention focusing activities being ones that are transparently detected by background operations of the machine system without need for diverted focusing of attention by the first user directed to aiding the background detecting of the automatically repeatedly detected recent attention focusing activities of the user, where the respective invitations and/or suggestions, if presented, are directly convertible by the first user into respective ones of immediately joined-with forums and/or immediately followed upon suggestions, each of the forums being one that has at least one other user co-invited to it or already participating in the forum, the machine system including:

a presentation format controller that is configured to determine or control at least one of;

whether or not a given, flowed-through invitation or suggestion is at all presented to the first user;

when a given, flowed-through invitation or suggestion is presented to the first user;

what order of presentation is used for multiple ones of presented invitations and/or suggestions of the caused flow;

at what rate multiple ones of presented invitations and/or suggestions are automatically presented to the first user; and

in what format a given one or more of presented ones of the invitations and/or suggestions are automatically presented to the first user;

wherein at least a portion of the machine system includes a data processing machine; and

78. The machine system of claim 77 wherein,

the presentation format controller is configured to cause display of a moving flow of icons respectively representing presented ones of the invitations and/or suggestions.

79. The machine system of claim 77 wherein,

the presentation format controller is configured to hide or minimize display of a moving flow of icons respectively representing presented ones of the invitations and/or suggestions but to also flag out to the first user'"'"'s attention those of the otherwise hidden or minimized icons that represent invitations and/or suggestions that are worthy of more attention than are others of the moving flow of icons.

The machine system of claim 79 wherein hidden or minimized ones of the presentable invitations and/or suggestions are caused to peek in from an edge portion of the user-accessible presentation device more prominently than less attention worthy ones of such hidden or minimized invitations and/or suggestions when the presentation format controller determines that such otherwise hidden or minimized invitations and/or suggestions are worthy of said more attention.

81. The machine system of claim 77 wherein,

the presentation format controller is configured to cause display of a moving flow of icons respectively representing presented ones of the invitations and/or suggestions, and

the displayed flow is outside of one or more windows or frames holding items of content, where sub-portions of such held content are or were subjects of recent focusing upon activities of the first user.

82. The machine system of claim 81 wherein,

the focused upon sub-portions of the window or frame held items of content can be directed to different, system-defined topics;

and

if such is the case, the displayed icons respectively represent presented ones of the invitations and/or suggestions directed to at least two different ones of the system-defined topics.

83. The machine system of claim 82 wherein,

a presented one of the invitations directed to different ones of the system-defined topics invites the first user to immediately join with a system-spawned forum directed to a corresponding system-defined topic, and

at least one other user of the machine system has been similarly invited to immediately join with the system-spawned forum.

84. The machine system of claim 83 wherein,

the system-spawned forum is initially a floating empty forum and no invitations to join into that system-spawned forum are presented to users of the machine system until a predetermined minimum number of users currently focusing upon content that is determined by the machine system to be directed to the corresponding system-defined topic of that forum are identified by the machine system, where the predetermined minimum number is at least two.

The machine system of claim 77 wherein the content that is presented and thus available to the first user, and upon which the first user'"'"'s recent attention focusing activities are automatically repeatedly detected, can include differently sourced items of content that respectively originated from different sources of content.

85. A machine system configured for performing prespecified operations wherein at least a portion of the machine system includes a data processing machine configured to perform at least part of the prespecified operations of the machine system, the machine system comprising:

a user monitoring subsystem configured to automatically repeatedly monitor at least one of machine usage activities of, states of and surroundings of a corresponding first user of the machine system and to automatically repeatedly record report records corresponding to the monitored activities, states and/or surroundings of the first user, wherein the automatically repeated monitorings are carried out transparently by the user monitoring subsystem without need for diverting focused attention of the first user to aiding the monitorings; and

an invitations presenting subsystem configured to automatically present to the first user, immediately acceptable invitations to join in on system-identified telecommunications-mediated information exchange forums that are each a forum having at least one other user co-invited to it or already participating in the forum, where the invitations are based on automatically repeated determinations by the machine system of likely recent focusings of attention or likely recent co-compatibilities of the first user to join in on said forums and where the automatically repeated determinations are based on at least some of the recorded report records corresponding to the monitored activities, states and/or surroundings of the first user,

wherein said likely recent focusings of attention of the first user or said likely recent co-compatibilities of the first user occurred no more than at least one of;

3 hours prior to said presentation to the first user of the respective invitations; and

a determined time duration prior to said presentation to the first user of the respective invitations, the determined time duration being determined based on a currently active profile characterizing the first user.

90. The machine system of claim 85 wherein the invitations presenting subsystem is configured to automatically repeatedly present the invitations as progressively more up to date invitations.
