1. A glucose measurement system, comprising:
- a glucose measuring device comprising a radio frequency identification (RFID) reader, electronics configured to receive one or more signals indicative of a glucose level in a sample and determine the glucose level based on the one or more signals, and a display for providing the determined glucose level;
a circuit board;
an RFID chip mounted on the circuit board;
an in vivo glucose sensor coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip;
a memory for storing digitally encoded data representing a monitored glucose level detected by the in vivo glucose sensor; and
an antenna coupled to the circuit board and in signal communication with the RFID chip;
wherein the RFID reader of the glucose measuring device is configured to receive the digitally encoded data representing the monitored glucose level when the RFID chip is within a predetermined range of the RFID reader.

Abstract
A glucose monitoring system, includes a glucose sensor strip or package of strips. The strip includes a substrate and a glucose monitoring circuit that has electrodes and a bodily fluid application portion of selected chemical composition. An antenna is integrated with the glucose sensor strip. An RFID sensor chip is coupled with the glucose sensor strip and the antenna. The chip has a memory containing digitally-encoded data representing calibration and/or expiration date information for the strip.
