1. A method for electronically regulating order entry in an electronic trading application, the method comprising:

  • receiving, via a user input device of a computing device, a target price for a spread between a plurality of tradeable objects;

    generating, via the computing device, a first order at a price for at least one tradeable object of the spread, the price based on the target price and an inside market for at least one other tradeable object of the plurality of tradeable objects of the spread;

    in response to a change in the inside market received at the computing device, determining via the computing device, an effective price for the spread based on the price and the change in the inside market;

    in response to receiving the target price for the spread, automatically selecting, via the computing device, a range of a plurality of ranges based on the target price for the spread, each range of the plurality of ranges having a value representing an acceptable difference between the effective price for the spread and the target price for the spread; and

    comparing, via the computing device, the effective price for the spread and a range of price levels according to the value of the selected range and the target price for the spread.
