1. A method, comprising:
- storing, by a portable radio frequency (RF) device, a first and second biometric sample data in a database;
associating the first biometric sample data with a first account having a first account value that is accessible via the portable RF device;
associating the second biometric sample data with a second account having a second account value that is accessible via the portable RF device;
authenticating, by the portable RF device, an RF Identification (RFID) reader by providing an authentication code to the RFID reader and receiving an encrypted code from the RFID reader corresponding to the authentication code;
decrypting, by the portable RF device, the encrypted code with a key prior to determining that the encrypted code corresponds to the authentication code;
receiving, by the portable RF device, a biometric sample;
comparing, by the portable RF device, the biometric sample with the first and second biometric sample data stored in the database;
determining, by the portable RF device, which accounts of the first and second account to assess a transaction value against based on the comparison; and
receiving, at the RFID reader, a transaction request associated with the portable RF device, in response to the authentication of the portable RF device and the RFID reader, wherein the transaction request comprises the determined account.

Abstract
A method for registering biometric information for use in a transponder-reader system is disclosed. The method includes steps of detecting, verifying and storing a proffered biometric sample. During detecting, a sensor detects a proffered biometric to obtain a biometric sample. During the verifying step, the biometric sample is compared with other stored samples and/or other information. During the storing step, the biometric sample is stored on a database, for use by the transponder-reader system in authorizing transactions.

21. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions that, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
-
storing a first and second biometric sample data; associating the first biometric sample data with a first account having a first account value that is accessible via a portable RF device; associating the second biometric sample data with a second account having a second account value that is accessible via the portable RF device; authenticating an RF Identification (RFID) reader by providing an authentication code to the RFID reader and receiving an encrypted code from the RFID reader corresponding to the authentication code; decrypting the encrypted code with a key prior to determining that the encrypted code corresponds to the authentication code; receiving a biometrics sample data; comparing the biometric sample with the first and second biometric sample data stored in the database; and determining which accounts of the first and second account to assess a transaction value against based on the comparison; wherein the RFID reader is configured to receive a transaction request associated with the portable RF device, in response to the authentication of the portable RF device and the RFID reader, wherein the transaction request comprises the determined account.
