1. A method for identifying a location to be named, the method comprising:

  • determining a location of a user via a mobile communication device;

    providing the location of the user for use in determining user-specific location information including at least one of a number of times the user is present at or near the location and an amount of time the user is present at or near the location;

    receiving an identification of the location as a location of interest, wherein the location is identified as the location of interest based on the user-specific location information;

    receiving suggested name information for the location of interest, wherein the suggested name information comprises a name that is associated with the location of interest;

    providing a prompt for naming the location of interest, the prompt provided for presentation in association with the suggested name information;

    receiving name information for naming the location; and

    presenting the name information for the location of interest on the mobile communication device.
