1. A method for making a coated article comprising:

  • providing a substrate and a coating composition;

    andforming a coated layer by applying the coating composition to the substrate,wherein the coating composition is prepared by a method comprising;

    forming a stabilizer solution having a pH value of about 8 to about 9, the stabilizer solution comprising partially neutralized polyallylamine having a molecular weight ranging from about 300 to about 100,000 and a dual amino structure functionality, wherein the partially neutralized polyallylamine comprises neutralized amino groups and ammonium salts;

    providing a fluoropolymer suspension comprising polyfluoroalkoxypolytetrafluoroethylene; and

    mixing a plurality of nanotubes in a media with the stabilizer solution and the fluoropolymer suspension to form a coating composition, wherein the coating composition comprises from about 0.1 to about 10% by weight of the partially neutralized polyallylamine, and whereby the stabilizer solution allows a stable dispersion of the plurality of nanotubes in the media and in the fluoropolymer drying the coated layer wherein the dried coated layer has a thickness of about 5 micrometers to about 20 micrometers.
