Abstract

The present invention relates to a terminal provided with a networking module for sharing data with a counter terminal connected to the terminal and a method for receiving and transmitting data between two terminals. The terminal according to the present invention comprises a connection port 10 connecting the terminal to a counter terminal and a networking module 20 receiving and transmitting data through the connection port 10 connected with the counter terminal. A control unit 30 of the terminal commands the networking module 20 to receive and transmit data by running an interfacing program. In the terminal according to the present invention, since two terminals can share data stored in each other without other device such as an external storage device of an adapter, it is advantageous in that users can easily move data between two terminals.

Claims

1. A communication device, comprising:

a first speaker;

a communications module configured to receive at least one of displayable data and audible data from another terminal, the communications module including a cable connector configured to support a universal serial bus (USB) and a wireless communication unit;

a first display unit configured to display the displayable data, the first display unit having a touch-pad for receiving inputs;

a storage unit configured to store the at least one of displayable data and audible data; and

a control unit cooperating with the first display unit, the cable connector, the storage unit and the wireless communication unit, and configured to

display, on the first display unit, a list of devices which are capable of receiving at least one or more of the displayable data and the audible data which have been stored in the storage unit,

wherein at least one of the devices on the list has a connectable output unit including at least one of a second display unit configured to display the displayable data when received and a second speaker configured to output the audible data when received,

receive, via the touch-pad, a selection input selecting a specific device having a corresponding second display unit among the devices displayed on the list, and

transmit, to the specific device, through the wireless communication unit, the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit,

wherein, before transmitting the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit to the specific device, the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit is displayed on the first display unit or outputted by the first speaker, respectively, and

wherein the communication device is configured to share an Internet access with the another terminal via the cable connector.

2. The communication device of claim 1, wherein the storage unit further stores operating system software, and the control unit executes the operating system software.

3. The communication device of claim 2, wherein the operating system software provides, on the first display unit, a graphic user interaction interface.

4. The communication device of claim 3, wherein the touch-pad is further configured to receive an input for the graphic user interaction interface.

5. The communication device of claim 1, wherein the first display unit further displays at least one of an operation status, and a progress associated with the displayable data that is being transmitted and displayed on the specific device.

6. The communication device of claim 1, wherein the control unit is further configured to receive a stop command and to stop the transmission of the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit to the specific device according to the stop command.

18. The communication device of claim 1, wherein the devices on the list are displayed in shape of icons having a monitor shape.

19. The communication device of claim 1, wherein the second display unit of the specific device is used to display the displayable data for the communication device.

20. The communication device of claim 1, wherein if the specific device is in a power saving mode before receiving the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data, the power saving mode of the specific device is changed to a wakeup mode.

7. A communication method, the method performed by a communication device, the method comprising:

receiving at least one of displayable data and audible data from another terminal via a communications module, the communication module including a wireless communication unit and a cable connector configured to support a universal serial bus (USB);

storing the received at least one of displayable data and audible data within a storage unit of the communication device;

displaying, on a first display unit of the communication device, a list of devices which are capable of receiving, from the communication device, the at least one of displayable data and audible data stored in the storage unit of the communication device,

wherein the communication device further includes a first speaker and a touch-pad,

wherein the communication device is configured to share an Internet access with the another terminal via the cable connector, and

wherein at least one of the devices on the list has a connectable output unit including at least one of a second display unit configured to display the displayable data when received and a second speaker configured to output signals of the audible data when received;

receiving, via the touch-pad, a selection input selecting a specific device from the list, the specific device having a corresponding second display unit; and

transmitting, via the wireless communication unit to the specific device, the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit,

wherein, before transmitting the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit to the specific device, the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit is displayed on the first display unit or outputted by the first speaker, respectively.

8. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving, via the touch-pad of the communication device, a stop command; and

stopping the transmission of the at least one of the displayable data and the audible data stored in the storage unit to the specific device according to the stop command.

9. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving an input with respect to a selection to a displayable data stored in the specific device by using the touch-pad.

10. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

displaying the displayable data on the second display unit of the specific device.

11. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

displaying, on the first display unit, an operation status or a progress associated with the displayable data that is being transmitted and displayed on the specific device.

12. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving, from the specific device through the wireless communication unit, a stop signal to stop the transmission from the communication device such that data transmission is stopped and thus not displayed on the second display unit of the specific device.

13. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

establishing a connection to the specific device through the wireless communication unit.

14. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

activating the wireless communication unit.

15. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

recognizing one or more devices to receive the displayable data.

16. The communication method of claim 7, wherein

the communication device and the specific device belong to the same network.

17. The communication method of claim 7, further comprising:

running a program which provides an interaction with a user,

wherein the list is displayed on a graphical screen generated from running the program.
