1. A display device comprising:

  • a display panel;

    an electrostatic capacitive type touch panel which is formed in an overlapping manner with the display panel;

    a plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes intersecting with the X electrodes which are formed on the electrostatic capacitive type touch panel, each X electrode having intersecting portions where the X electrode and the Y electrode overlap with each other and electrode portions each of which is formed between two intersecting portions, and each Y electrode having intersecting portions where the X electrode and the Y electrode overlap with each other and electrode portions each of which is formed between two intersecting portions;

    said each X electrode being formed of a plurality of segments directly connected electrically in series to each other on the electrostatic capacitive type touch panel so as to delimit a first end of said each X electrode adjacent a first side of the electrostatic capacitive touch panel and a second end of said each X electrode adjacent a second side of the capacitive touch panel which is opposite the first side, and a first signal line which supplies signals to the X electrodes from both of the first and second ends of said each X electrode;

    a second signal line which supplies signals to the Y electrodes from both ends of said each Y electrode, said each Y electrode being formed of a plurality of segments directly connected electrically in series to each other on the electrostatic capacitive type touch panel; and

    a flexible printed circuit board on which the first signal line and the second signal line are formed;

    wherein the first signal line and the second signal line intersect with each other on the flexible printed circuit board, and the first signal line and the second signal line are respectively branched into a plurality of paths on the flexible printed circuit board;

    wherein the branched paths of the first signal line are electrically connected to the both of the first and second ends of a respective X electrode; and

    wherein the branched paths of the second signal line are electrically connected to the both ends of a respective Y electrode.
