1. A system for directionally stimulating a cell of a living organism, the system comprising:
- a picafina with a proximal extremity, a distal extremity, an inner lumen and an outer shell enclosing the inner lumen;
a plurality of one or more electrodes;
an electrical energy storage means and an electronics controlling unit are electrically coupled with an address decoder which is located within the picafina, wherein the decoder is electrically coupled to the electrodes located on the picafina;
wherein the electronics controlling unit and the picafina are provided with digital electronics to identify the electrodes;
whereby the digital electronics select a subset of at least one of the plurality of one or more electrodes.

Abstract
A picafina, or lead, includes a decoder within the picafina to provide directional stimulation to a multitude of electrode pads. The system of address wires, control switches and demultiplexers selects one of a plurality of the electrode pads. Time delay switches control the fixed length of the time the cells receive the electrical stimulation. Alternatively the fixed length of the time the cells receive the electrical stimulation may be implemented by periodically disconnecting the stimulation voltage as the battery output.
