1. A surgical ligation clip for ligating a fluid carrying structure, said clip comprising:
- a mid-longitudinal axis, a distal end, a proximal end opposite said distal end, and a length between said distal and proximal ends;
an upper support member oriented generally along the mid-longitudinal axis of said clip and comprising two spaced-apart parallel upper longitudinal members;
a lower support member oriented generally along the mid-longitudinal axis of said clip and comprising two spaced-apart parallel lower longitudinal members, wherein said upper longitudinal members are adapted to overlie said lower longitudinal members in parallel; and
a connector at said proximal end of said clip, said connector comprising a coil and joining said upper and lower support members, said clip being formed of a single piece of wire having a first free end and a second free end coaxially facing each other within the coil, wherein;
the distance between the parallel upper longitudinal members corresponds to a thickness of one winding of the coil; and
the distance between the parallel lower longitudinal members corresponds to the thickness of the one winding of the coil.
