a guide oriented relative to a three-dimensional anatomy of the joint to provide one or more predetermined drilling paths when the mold is placed against and substantially conforms to the shape of the cartilage surface of the joint.

29. A patient specific surgical tool for use in surgery on a femoral condyle of a knee joint of a patient, comprising:

a mold having an internal surface that substantially conforms to the shape of a corresponding portion of a diseased or damaged articular surface of the knee joint of the patient, wherein at least a portion of the corresponding portion includes a cartilage surface; and an aperture, wherein the aperture is smaller than a dimension of an implant of an articular repair system and is sized to accommodate a wire, screw or drill and wherein the aperture includes anatomical information of the knee joint to facilitate subsequent placement of the articular repair system when the mold is placed against and substantially conforms to the shape of the corresponding portion of the diseased or damaged articular surface of the knee joint. - View Dependent Claims (30)
