1. A method of managing a wireless sensor network, comprising:

  • forming a network of nodes, the nodes transitioning between one of a sleeping state, probing state, and working state;

    sending, by one of said nodes in the probing state, a probe message to neighbor nodes;

    receiving a reply message from one of the neighbor nodes in response to the probe message, said reply message including a battery capacity of the one of the neighbor nodes;

    determining a difference between a remaining battery capacity of the neighbor node associated with the reply message and a battery capacity of the node in the probing state;

    determining a sleep time corresponding to a product of the difference between the remaining battery capacity of the neighbor node associated with the reply message and the battery capacity of the node in the probing state and a preset value; and

    transitioning to one of the sleeping state and the working state on the basis of the determined difference, wherein when the difference between the remaining battery capacity of the neighbor state and the battery capacity of the node in the probing state is greater than or equal to a threshold value transitioning to the work state and sending a sleep message to the associated neighbor node, said sleep message including the determined sleep time.
