    transmitting to a presence system not associated with the initiating party a request for presence information of the initiating party based on the callback number;

    receiving presence information indicating a second communication device associated with the initiating party at a current location;

    comparing the callback number to the presence information to determine if the callback number is associated with the second communication device;

    in response to determining that the callback number is associated with the second communication device, presenting the recorded message to a subscriber; and

    in response to determining that the callback number is not associated with the second communication device, providing to the subscriber an option to establish a communication session between the subscriber and the initiating party via the second communication device.
