1. A method for processing sensor data from an analyte sensor, comprising:

  • receiving or generating sensor data from an analyte sensor, wherein the sensor data comprises a plurality of sensor data points;

    calculating a change in an offset associated with the received plurality of sensor data points over a predetermined time period or a change in a slope associated with the received plurality of sensor data points over a predetermined time period, wherein the offset and the slope are determined from a regression performed on a calibration set comprising at least one matched data pair;

    determining, with an electronic device, a level of stability of the analyte sensor based at least in part on a change selected from the group consisting of the change in the offset, the change in the slope, and combinations thereof; and

    controlling an output based on the determined level of stability.
