- a stent comprising a plurality of longitudinal members defining a plurality of first openings, each longitudinal member is in the form of a wire extending along a direction substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the stent; and
a metallic film comprising an alloy comprising nickel, titanium, and chromium, the metallic film having a thickness of about 50 μ
m or less, covering at least a portion of the stent, and occluding at least a portion of the plurality of first openingswherein the film includes a plurality of pores having a size suitable to facilitate adhesion of cells thereto;
wherein each pore has a depth of 25 microns or less.

Medical devices, such as endoprostheses, and methods of making the devices are disclosed. The medical device can include a metallic film comprising nickel, titanium, and chromium, wherein a ratio of a weight of chromium of the metallic film to a combined weight of nickel, titanium, and chromium of the metallic film is at least 0.001. The metallic film can include a shape memory alloy.
