3. An electrochromic mirror or a window comprising a rear element and a transparent front element being sealably bonded together along the perimeter with a perimeter sealant in a spaced apart relationship to define a chamber;
- wherein the said perimeter sealant system further comprises of a main perimeter seal and a dam, wherein the dam is associated with the gap in the main seal, and the said gap is associated with the electrolyte to be introduced into the said chamber, wherein the said dam resists the penetration of the plug sealant into the chamber during the operation of plugging of the said gap.
