1. A method for use in a wireless device, the method comprising:
- a) receiving at least one message causing configuration of;
i) a plurality of cells comprising a primary cell and at least one secondary cell; and
ii) a plurality of cell groups comprising a primary cell group and a secondary cell group;
b) receiving a command causing transmission of a random access preamble on a secondary cell, said random access preamble transmitted in parallel with at least one of the following uplink transmissions;
i) a first packet on a control channel of said primary cell; and
ii) at least one second packet on at least one data channel of said plurality of cells;
c) determining a transmission power for said random access preamble; and
d) when a total calculated transmission power exceeds a predefined value, adjusting transmission power of one or more of said at least one uplink transmission according to a predefined rule considering a higher priority for said transmission power compared with a transmission power priority of said first packet and said at least one second packet.

Abstract
A wireless device receives a command for transmission of a random access preamble on a first cell. The wireless device transmits the random access preamble in parallel with a first packet and/or at least one second packet. If a total calculated transmission power exceeds a predefined value, the wireless device adjusts transmission power of one or more of the at least one parallel uplink transmission considering a higher priority for the transmission power of the random access preamble.

a) one or more communication interfaces; b) one or more processors; and c) memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause said wireless device; i) to receive at least one message causing configuration of a plurality of cells grouped into a plurality of cell groups comprising a primary cell group and a secondary cell group; ii) to receive a command causing transmission of a random access preamble on a first cell in said plurality of cells, said random access preamble transmitted in parallel with at least one of the following uplink transmissions; (1) a first packet on a control channel; and (2) at least one second packet on at least one data channel; iii) to determine a transmission power for said random access preamble; and iv) when a total calculated transmission power exceeds a predefined value, to adjust transmission power of one or more of said at least one uplink transmission according to a predefined rule considering a higher priority for said transmission power compared with a transmission power priority of said first packet and said at least one second packet. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)
