1. A method of depositing reagent solution on an electrochemical test sensor as a wet reagent droplet, the method comprising:
- providing a base of the test sensor;
forming an electrode pattern on the base;
depositing the reagent solution on at least the electrode pattern as a wet reagent droplet using a reagent-dispensing system such that the wet reagent droplet directly contacts a portion of the electrode pattern, the depositing including applying mechanical force to at least a portion of the reagent solution via the reagent-dispensing system; and
drying the wet reagent droplet to form a dry reagent layer, the reagent solution including an enzyme and a polyelectrolyte, the polyelectrolyte aiding in providing a dry reagent layer having a uniformity in which the ratio of the thinnest point to the thickest point is at least about 0.2.

Abstract
A method of depositing reagent on an electrochemical test sensor adapted to determine information relating to an analyte includes providing a base and forming an electrode pattern on the base. The method further includes depositing the reagent on at least the electrode pattern using a reagent-dispensing system. The reagent-dispensing system applies mechanical force to the reagent in the reagent-dispensing system to assist in providing a wet reagent droplet on at least the electrode pattern.

-
providing a base of the test sensor; forming an electrode pattern on the base; depositing reagent solution on the base as a wet reagent droplet using a reagent-dispensing system such that the wet reagent droplet directly contacts a portion of the electrode pattern, the reagent solution including about 15 weight percent reagent solid and about 85 weight percent water such that the average thickness of the deposited wet reagent droplet is less than 100 micrometers, the reagent solid including an enzyme and a polyelectrolyte; and drying the wet reagent droplet to remove the water from the wet reagent droplet thereby forming a dry reagent layer on the base of the test sensor, the dry reagent layer having a uniformity in which the ratio of the thinnest point to the thickest point is at least about 0.2. - View Dependent Claims (24, 25, 26, 27, 28)
