- a portable housing having a perimeter and comprising a top housing portion, a bottom housing portion, and an electrically conductive continuous closed ring between the top and bottom housing portions and along the perimeter and configured to function as an antenna;
a printed circuit board (PCB) carried by said portable housing;
wireless transceiver circuitry comprising at least one circuit element carried by said PCB; and
at least one current shunt component electrically coupled between said electrically conductive continuous ring and said at least one circuit element to define a non-current carrying portion of the electrically conductive continuous closed ring, said at least one current shunt component being configured so that a propagation constant along said electrically conductive continuous closed ring becomes imaginary to define the non-current carrying portion.
