1. A surgical stapler, comprising:
- a staple holder includinga cavity defined therein,a plurality of staples held within said cavity;
an upper surface;
a plurality of apertures defined through said upper surface through which said staples are deployable,at least one wedge movable within said cavity, andat least one staple trap including a strip and a plurality of arms extending from and bent relative to said strip, wherein at least one said arm resides in a neutral position directly underneath a corresponding said aperture such that said at least one arm blocks at least one of said staples from moving through said corresponding aperture, and wherein articulation of said wedge moves said at least one arm away from the neutral position to allow for release of said at least one staple.
