1. A method of replacing a deficient native aortic valve with a prosthetic valve, comprising:

  • advancing a self-expandable prosthetic valve through a tapered tube for crimping the prosthetic valve into a crimped diameter, the prosthetic valve comprising a support stent having a proximal stent portion and a distal stent portion;

    advancing the prosthetic valve into a restriction tube for maintaining the self-expandable prosthetic valve in the crimped diameter;

    inserting the prosthetic valve into a body through the femoral artery via a catheterization technique and positioning the support stent within the deficient native aortic valve;

    releasing the prosthetic valve from the restriction tube such that the prosthetic valve self-expands to an expanded diameter for anchoring the proximal stent portion within the deficient native aortic valve and anchoring the distal stent portion within the ascending aorta;

    wherein the self-expandable prosthetic valve comprises a valve assembly positioned within the proximal stent portion of the support stent, the valve assembly formed with pericardial tissue and having three leaflets for allowing blood to pass from an inlet to an outlet of the valve assembly and for providing blockage to a reverse flow of blood; and

    wherein an expanded diameter of the proximal stent portion is smaller than an expanded diameter of the distal stent portion for preserving the dimensions of the mitral valve and for providing a radial gap between the support stent and the openings to the coronary arteries, and wherein the distal stent portion comprises only a stent adapted for decreasing the risk of support stent migration.
