1. A multi-mode communications device comprising:

  • a first antenna;

    a duplexer;

    a second antenna;

    a transmitter chain for generating transmission signals having a first RF frequency;

    a first receiver chain corresponding to a second RF frequency, coupled to the first antenna via the duplexer, for processing signals, received via the first antenna, having a second RF frequency;

    a second receiver chain corresponding to the first RF frequency, coupled to the second antenna, for processing signals, received via the second antenna, having the first RF frequency; and

    a switching module used to switch between the second receiver chain corresponding to the first RF frequency and the first receiver chain corresponding to the second RF frequency, said multi-mode communications device using an output of only one receiver chain at any given time, said switching module outputting a signal from the one of the first and second receiver chains being used at a point in time.
