1. A method for providing first party data to a second party, the first party data related to a first party and being stored in a payment device comprising a mechanism for locking and unlocking access to said first party data, the method comprising:

  • storing said first party data in a memory unit of said payment device, said first party data having a locked state and an unlocked state;

    performing payment processing of a purchase between the first party and the second party;

    receiving a request to read said first party data from said second party;

    after the payment processing, determining whether said first party data is in said locked state or said unlocked state in response to said request; and

    providing said first party data to said second party in response to said request only when said first party data is in said unlocked state, wherein said first party data is at least one of an address, a telephone number, an email address, and demographic information of said first party, wherein the payment device comprises a data access application, the data access application comprising the mechanism for locking and unlocking access to said first party data, a mechanism for determining whether said first party data is in said locked state or said unlocked state, and a file storing the first party data.
