1. A method for manufacturing a portable computing device capable of wireless communications, the method comprising:
- providing an integral and substantially seamless enclosure extending along a longitudinal axis, the enclosure comprising;
a structural wall defining a shape or form of the portable computing device and being formed from a radio-transparent material that permits wireless communications therethrough,an internal lumen defined at least in part by the structural wall and having internal rails for guiding a plurality of operational components to their desired position within the lumen,a first opening,a second opening opposite the first opening, anda front surface having a third opening disposed therethrough, the third opening configured to present an operational component comprising a user interface sub system;
sliding the user interface sub system through the second opening and into the internal lumen; and
securing the user interface sub system within the lumen when the user interface sub system is in its desired position within the internal lumen.

Abstract
A method for assembling a portable computing device is disclosed. A number of operational components can be inserted into an extruded seamless housing through either a top or bottom opening in the housing. In some embodiments the housing can be radio frequency transparent so that the operational components disposed within the housing can send and receive wireless signals. The operational components can be aligned by internal rails disposed within the housing for positioning and supporting the operational components in an assembled position.
