The third channel is transmitted on a condition that the access unit has not allocated resources for the second channel. The access unit produces an indication for transmission on the third channel. The transmitted indication is produced by a data value of one for a duration of at least one time slot and orthogonal sequences. The indication indicates that the access unit is requesting to be allocated the second channel to transmit traffic data.
