1. A system comprising:

  • a first implantable medical device coupled to a first plurality of electrodes, wherein the first implantable medical device is configured to deliver therapeutic electrical stimulation to a patient via the first plurality of electrodes; and

    a second medical device coupled to a second plurality of electrodes, wherein the second medical device is configured to;

    deliver therapeutic electrical stimulation to the patient via the second plurality of electrodes to inhibit the delivery of therapeutic electrical stimulation by the first implantable medical device; and

    modulate the therapeutic electrical stimulation delivered by the second implantable medical device according to a predetermined pattern to provide a disable command to the first implantable medical device,wherein the first implantable medical device is disabled in response to receipt of the disable command.
