1. A device comprising:
- a memory configured to store image data representing an image; and
a processor configured to;
process the image data in order to determine whether a portion of the image data is within an edge portion of the image by comparing an intensity value of the portion of the image data with an intensity value of a neighboring portion of the image data,perform a first halftone process on at least a part of the portion of the image data in response to determining the portion of the image data is not within the edge portion of the image;
perform a second halftone process on at least a part of the portion of the image data in response to determining the portion of the image data is within the edge portion of the image, wherein the second halftone process is different from the first halftone process, andwherein the second halftone process is performed by alternating between two grayscale values for multiple pixels of the edge portion such that a contrast between the edge portion and non-edge portion is increased.

11. A method comprising:
-
storing image data representing an image; determining whether a portion of the image data is within an edge portion of the image by comparing an intensity value of the portion of the image data with an intensity value of a neighboring portion of the image data; and performing a first halftone process on at least a part of the portion of the image data in response to determining the portion of the image data is not within the edge portion of the image; performing a second halftone process on the on at least a part of the portion of the image data in response to determining the portion of the image data is within the edge portion of the image, wherein the second halftone process is different from the first halftone process, and wherein the second halftone process is performed by alternating between two grayscale values for multiple pixels of the edge portion such that a contrast between the edge portion and non-edge portion is increased. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
