1. In a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having stored therein data representing instructions executable by a programmed processor for proposing one of a plurality of medical tests, the storage medium comprising instructions for:

  • receiving a selection of a medical condition to be treated;

    obtaining patient medical data for a particular patient that is stored in a memory;

    obtaining other medical data from existing clinical records that is stored in the memory;

    identifying at least one of the medical tests for analysis;

    analyzing the patient medical data and the other medical data with the programmed processor in communication with the memory, wherein the analysis comprises comparing each of the identified medical tests with the other medical data in view of the patient medical data for the selected medical condition;

    determining a probability for each of the identified medical tests based on the analysis of the patient medical data and the other medical data for the selected medical condition, wherein the probability comprises a likelihood of success for each of the medical tests for the particular patient for the selected medical condition, wherein the other medical data comprises results of at least some of the medical tests from the existing clinical records and those results reflect whether the medical tests were successful for other patients for the selected medical condition;

    outputting the one of the medical tests with a highest determined probability;

    utilizing the outputted medical test to obtain additional medical data, wherein the additional medical data comprises results of the medical test; and

    automatically updating the patient medical data in the memory with the additional medical data, wherein the step of analyzing the patient medical data comprises comparing each of the identified medical tests with the other medical data in view of the updated patient medical data that includes the additional medical data.
