An implant for marking an area within a surgically formed cavity in tissue of a living body comprising a matrix material and a marking material, the implant being formable to fit the shape and size of the surgically formed cavity in the tissue of the living body, the implant being configured to fill the surgically formed cavity in the tissue and support the tissue that surrounds the surgically formed cavity, and configured to allow in-growth of fibrous tissue into and replace at least a portion of the matrix material, wherein the matrix material comprises a foamed bioabsorbable protein.
