First Claim
1. A vehicle system comprising:
- a digital radio receiver for receiving and playing a current song in a vehicle;
a controller in the radio receiver that decodes metadata that identifies the current song;
a cell phone in the vehicle, the cell phone having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution by a processing device of the cell phone, cause the processing device to, in response to receiving a predetermined activation signal and the decoded metadata that identifies the first song over a first transceiver of the cell phone, transmit the decoded metadata that identifies the current song to a remote location over a second transceiver of the cell phone that is different than the first transceiver of the cell phone;
a capture input button or softkey in the radio receiver to trigger transmission of the predetermined activation signal and the decoded metadata that identifies the first song to the cell phone via the first transceiver; and
the controller configured to access a purchase configuration storing user preferences to generate a purchase request for the current song identified by the metadata, wherein the stored user preferences are preset prior to said triggering using the capture input button or softkey and identify a particular music vendor.
