1. An advertisement display device, comprising:
- a storage device configured to store an advertisement display application, one or more webpages, and one or more advertisements; and
a processor;
wherein the advertisement display application configures the processor to;
receive a webpage, where the webpage comprises instructions specifying how a second advertisement will be displayed in response to interactions with a first advertisement;
receive a first advertisement, where the first advertisement comprises an engagement warning comprising;
at least one piece of engagement clue data configured to warn a user of a potential future action; and
at least one interaction delay threshold, where the interaction delay threshold is based on interactions with the first advertisement;
receive a second advertisement;
determine when an interaction with the first advertisement has occurred;
display the engagement warning based on the engagement clue data and the interaction delay threshold in response to the interaction with the first advertisement, where;
the engagement warning indicates that further interaction with the first advertisement will cause an action by the webpage when the interaction delay threshold is reached; and
the engagement clue from the at least one engagement clue within the displayed engagement warning is based on the interaction with the first advertisement and the interaction delay threshold;
update the displayed engagement warning based on further interaction with the first advertisement;
hide the engagement warning when further interaction with the first advertisement does not exceed the interaction delay threshold; and
automatically display the second advertisement in response to further interaction exceeding the interaction delay threshold with the first advertisement.

receiving a webpage using an advertisement display device, where the webpage includes instructions specifying how a second advertisement will be displayed in response to interactions with a first advertisement; receiving a first advertisement using the advertisement display device, where the first advertisement contains an engagement warning comprising; at least one piece of engagement clue data configured to warn a user of a potential future action; and at least one interaction delay threshold, where the interaction delay threshold is based on interactions with the first advertisement; receiving a second advertisement using the advertisement display device; determining when an interaction with the first advertisement has occurred using the advertisement display device; displaying the engagement warning in response to the interaction with the first advertisement using the advertisement display device, where; the engagement warning indicates that further interaction with the first advertisement will cause an action by the webpage when the interaction delay threshold is reached; and the engagement clue from the at least one engagement clue within the displayed engagement warning is based on the interaction with the first advertisement and the interaction delay threshold; updating the displayed engagement warning based on further interaction with the first advertisement using the advertisement display device; hiding the engagement warning using the advertisement display device when further interaction with the first advertisement does not occur within the interaction delay threshold; and displaying the second advertisement using the advertisement display device in response to further interaction with the first advertisement exceeding the interaction delay threshold. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22)
