Method and system for frequency relaying
First Claim
1. A method of transmitting data between at least one information source and at least one information sink using electromagnetic waves, which method comprises the steps of:
- (a) establishing a direct wireless communication link between the at least one information source and the at least one information sink using at least one first frequency band,(b) identifying at least one information relay;
(c) instructing the at least one information relay to relay data received from the at least one information source intended for the at east one information sink on at least one second frequency band different to said at least one first frequency band;
(d) transmitting data directly from said at least one information source to said at least one information sink using said at least one first frequency band;
(e) the at least one information sink receiving said data on said at least one first frequency band and generating a first signal stream therefrom;
(f) the at least one information sink also receiving said same data on said at least one second frequency band and generating a second signal stream therefrom;
(g) the at least one information sink processing said first and second signal streams to recover said data.

Abstract
A method of transmitting data across an electronic data communication system comprising a plurality of terminals that can send and receive data in the form of electromagnetic waves to and from at least one of the terminals, which method comprises the steps of: (a) identifying at least one control terminal, at least one target terminal and at least two relaying terminals from the plurality of terminals; and (b) using the control terminal to instruct the at least two relaying terminals to receive and relay data intended for the at least one target terminal, so that the at least one target terminal can receive data directly from at least one terminal and from the at least two relaying terminals, thereby increasing capacity of the system.
