1. A fluid dispensing apparatus comprising:

  • a fluid containing reservoir,a dispensing mechanism which on activation causes fluid to be discharged from the reservoir,an activation mechanism for activation of the dispensing mechanism by movement of the activation mechanism between an extended position and a retracted position,a first spring member biasing the activation mechanism towards a first position selected from the extended position and the retracted position,the activation mechanism adapted for engagement by a user to move the activation mechanism against the bias of the first spring member towards a second position selected from the extended position and the retracted position and which is not the first position,wherein on release of the activation member by the user the first spring member moves the activation mechanism to the first position,a piezoelectric electrical generator for generating electric energy,the electrical generator coupled to the activation mechanism such that on movement of the activation mechanism to activate the dispensing mechanism the generator generates electrical energy,the first spring member comprises an elongate cantilevered leaf spring member,the first spring member extending along a longitudinal of the first spring member from a first end thereof to a distal second end thereof,the first spring member having an unbiased condition and being resiliently deflectable generally normal to its longitudinal to deflected conditions from which the first spring member inherently attempts to return to its unbiased condition,the piezoelectric electrical generator comprising an elongate piezoelectric harvester member that generates electrical energy when deflected,the piezoelectric harvester member being secured to the spring member extending along the longitudinal of the first spring member such that deflection of the first spring member normal to its longitudinal between the deflected conditions and unbiased condition correspondingly deflects the elongate piezoelectric harvester member to generate electrical energy.
