A coating on a medical device, comprising a polyester (PE) polymer and a phosphorylcholine (PC) functionalized aliphatic absorbable polymer,wherein the PE polymer is included in a matrix layer comprising a bioactive agent,wherein the phosphorylcholine (PC) functionalized aliphatic absorbable polymer is included in a topcoat of a thickness from about 1 to 2 microns on top of the matrix layer, andwherein the phosphorylcholine (PC) functionalized aliphatic absorbable polymer comprises poly glycerol sebacate.
