1. A method for recognition of an intended user interaction with a digitizer, the method comprising:
- sampling signals obtained on a digitizer;
detecting touching or hovering of a user interaction;
computing an amplitude gradient of the signals sampled, wherein the amplitude gradient is a gradient across an area on a digitizer over which the touching or hovering of a user interaction is detected;
characterizing the amplitude gradient associated with a specific user;
storing at least one parameter determined by the characterizing; and
determining if subsequently detected signals comply with the characterizing.

17. A system for recognizing an intended user interaction with a digitizer comprising:
