Abstract

Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods for interactive property communication. In various embodiments, an interactive property communication system includes two or more property communication nodes (PCNs) each adapted for coupling to an electrical service. PCNs include a radio transceiver for communications with a broker service adapted for controlling communications with one or more PCNs.

Claims

1. A method of communicating with a plurality of property communication devices configured for placement at various premises for providing communications to a plurality of subscribers, the method comprising:

receiving instructions associated with at least one of the plurality of subscribers, the instructions defining parameters associated with receipt of adverting content over one or more of the plurality of property communication devices;

programming a server-based system to control delivery of the advertising content to the plurality of subscribers based on the instructions;

receiving the advertising content from a plurality of third party vendors, the advertising content configured to be communicated over a wireless network;

without intervention from one of the subscribers, receiving information from one or more of the plurality of property communication devices that indicates a location with respect to at least one relevant property communication device where the at least one subscriber may receive the advertising content to focus delivery of the advertising content to the at least one relevant property communication device and to the at least one subscriber;

providing the advertising content to the at least one of subscriber from the server-based system to the at least one relevant property communication device, such that the advertising content provided meets the parameters programmed for the at least one subscriber, and such that the advertising content is brought to the attention of the at least one subscriber using an annunciator configured into the at least one relevant property communication device; and

receiving information associated with the advertising content to indicate interest from the at least one subscriber.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

storing subscriber financial payment data; and

transmitting the financial payment data to the third party vendor in response to receiving a purchase request from the at least one subscriber.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the instructions defining parameters associated with receipt of advertisements over one or more of the plurality of property communication devices comprise a date range during which the at least one subscriber is interested in receiving the advertising content.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the instructions defining parameters associated with receipt of advertisements over one or more of the plurality of property communication devices comprise pricing information related to at least one good or service.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the instructions defining parameters associated with receipt of advertisements over one or more of the plurality of property communication devices comprise model identification information related to at least one good or service.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the advertising content is provided to the at least one subscriber by an audio format.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the advertising content is provided to the at least one subscriber by a video format.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the advertising content is provided to the at least one subscriber by an email format.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the advertising content is provided to the at least one subscriber by a text message.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the instructions defining parameters associated with receipt of advertisements over one or more of the plurality of property communication devices comprise instructions that assign at least one priority level to the advertising content.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the instructions that assign at least one priority level to the advertising content comprise assigning a first communication network to a first priority level and a second communication network to a second priority level.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein assigning a first communication network to a first priority level and a second communication network to a second priority level comprises assigning a first cellular network to the first priority level and assigning a second cellular network to the second priority level.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein controlling content delivery to the plurality of subscribers based on the instructions comprises one or more of stopping the advertising content, controlling a duration of the advertising content, and storing the advertising content.

14. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

storing a schedule that controls the advertising content of at least one of the plurality of third party vendors.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored schedule comprises one or more days of a week.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored schedule comprises one or more hours of a day.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored schedule comprises a number of announcements permitted per day from one of the plurality of third party vendors.

18. The method of claim 1, wherein the stored schedule comprises a format associated with the advertising content, and a maximum duration of the provided advertising content.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the annunciator configured into the at least one relevant property communication device is configured to provide a notification to the at least one subscriber of pending advertising content prior to providing the advertising content, and wherein the defined parameters comprise a value representing a maximum number of notifications, the method further comprising:

storing a message related to the advertising content when the number of notifications provided exceeds the value representing the maximum number of notifications.

20. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

initiating, upon receiving a command from the at least one subscriber, a call with a representative of one of the plurality of third party vendors.

21. The method of claim 20, wherein the call is a video call.

22. The method of claim 1, wherein the defined parameters indicate whether the advertising content provided to the at least one subscriber comprises audio content and/or video content.

23. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

storing, based on at least one defined parameter, a message related to the advertising content; and

providing an indication to the at least one subscriber that a message has been stored.

24. The method of claim 1, wherein the annunciator configured into the at least one relevant property communication device is configured to provide a notification to the at least one subscriber of pending advertising content prior to providing the advertising content, the method further comprising:

receiving, via the at least one subscriber, a command to stop the delivery of advertising of content; and

storing a message related to the advertising content.
