1. A device for identifying a change in pressure of a liquid in a flow path associated with a microdosing device for delivering a liquid substance via a catheter to a patient, the device comprising:

  • a component havinga feed opening,a removal opening,a cavity, anda membrane attached within the cavity to define at least a part of an interior space of the component such that the feed opening is fluidically connected to the removal opening, wherein the feed opening supplies the liquid to the interior space of the component and the removal opening supplies the liquid to the catheter during operation of the microdosing device, the membrane having at least one of a reflective region or a rigid reflector located thereon within the cavity of the component; and

a measuring means operably coupled to the component comprising a sensor, wherein the measuring means is configured to detect a change in shape or position of the reflective region or the rigid reflector as a consequence of a corresponding change in shape or position of the membrane due to a change in pressure of the liquid during the operation of the microdosing device.
