1. A magnetic attachment system, comprising:

  • a first magnetic structure comprising a first plurality of magnetic elements, said magnetic structure having a first side corresponding to an interface boundary for interfacing said first magnetic structure to a second magnetic structure having a second plurality of magnetic elements complementary to said first plurality of magnetic elements, said first magnetic structure having a second side opposite of said first side, said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure being in accordance with a spatial force function comprising a peak spatial force corresponding to alignment of said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure and a plurality of off peak forces corresponding to a plurality of misalignments of said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure, said plurality of off peak spatial forces comprising a plurality of release forces resulting from cancellation of at least one attract force by at least one repel force, each release force of said plurality of release forces being one of an attract force or a repel force; and

a first intermediate layer configured next to said first side of said first magnetic structure, said first intermediate layer being a magnetically inactive intermediate layer that suppresses spatial forces by separating said first magnetic structure and said second magnetic structure; and

a second intermediate layer configured next to said second side of said first magnetic structure, said second intermediate layer being a magnetically active intermediate layer.
