1. A system comprising:
- a bone anchor assembly comprising;
a fixation member configured to secure an inferior or superior facet joints comprising a threaded portion, the threaded portion having a longitudinal axis;
a coupling member formed monolithically with the fixation member, the coupling member having a closed loop portion defining a passageway orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the threaded portion;
a compressible member polyaxially adjustably positionable at least partially within the closed loop portion, the compressible member having a compressible bore shaped to receive an elongated member;
a locking member configured to be actuated relative to the compressible member to urge compression of the compressible member, wherein the locking member comprises a non-threaded head segment configured to fracture from a threaded segment, wherein the locking member is configured to directly compress an outer surface of the compressible member, and wherein the compression of the compressible member locks the elongated member in a fixed position relative to the assembly, andwherein a threaded aperture is encircled by a ring on a top portion of the coupling member, the exterior of the ring having multiple drive features and a smaller diameter than the closed loop portion of the coupling member,wherein a countersink flares out from a concave wall of the passageway to the outer surface of the coupling member.

Abstract
A bone anchor assembly may include a fixation member securable to a bone, a coupling member, a compressible member and a locking member. The fixation member may be formed monolithically with the coupling member, and the coupling member may have a loop portion shaped to receive the compressible member. The compressible member may comprise a compressible sphere with a bore extending therethrough, the bore shaped to receive an elongated member. The locking member may be actuable through an aperture in the coupling member to urge compression of the compressible member to lock the elongated member in a fixed position. The compressible member may be polyaxially adjustable relative to the coupling member.

6. A system comprising:
-
a bone anchor assembly comprising; a fixation member configured to secure to inferior or superior facet joints comprising a threaded portion, the threaded portion having a longitudinal axis; a coupling member coupled to the fixation member, the coupling member having a closed loop portion, the closed loop portion comprising a wall with a threaded aperture extending therethrough, wherein the threaded aperture is coaxial with the longitudinal axis; a compressible member positionable at least partially within the closed loop portion, the compressible member having a bore shaped to receive an elongated member; and a locking member shaped to be received in the threaded aperture, wherein the locking member comprises a non-threaded head segment configured to fracture from a threaded segment, wherein the locking member is configured to directly compress an outer surface of the compressible member to urge compression of the compressible member and prevent rotation of the compressible member within the closed loop portion; wherein, in response to the compression of the compressible member, an interior wall of the bore of the compressible member exerts force against the elongated member to prevent movement of the elongated member relative to the compressible member, wherein a threaded aperture is encircled by a ring on a top portion of the coupling member, the exterior of the ring having multiple drive features and a smaller diameter than the closed loop portion of the coupling member, wherein a countersink flares out from a concave wall of the passageway to the outer surface of the coupling member. - View Dependent Claims (7, 8, 9)
