1. A method of communicating through a repeater, comprising:

  • emulating, by the repeater, a wireless base station of a wireless network, the repeater being outside a range of the wireless network;

    receiving format information at the repeater via a wired connection;

    selecting a first format from among a plurality of formats according to the format information, wherein the first format is compatible with the wireless network;

    receiving, at the repeater and via the wired connection, first data in a second format from a second repeater in the wireless network, the second format being compatible with a wired internet protocol network, the second format being different from the first format;

    converting, by the repeater, the first data from the second format to the first format;

    wirelessly transmitting the first data from the repeater in the first for reception by a client device of the wireless network, the client device being outside the range of the wireless network;

    wirelessly receiving, at the repeater, second data in the first format from the client device;

    converting, by the repeater, the second data from the first format to the second format; and

    communicating the second data in the second format from the repeater via the wired to be received by the second repeater and communicated by the second repeater on the wireless network.
