Abstract

A system for integrating and packaging a plurality of tablet orders is described. The system comprises a graphical user interface configured to receive one or more inputs for a plurality of tablets associated with a particular patient. A software module is configured to compile the inputs into an integrated order. The system further comprises a filling system configured to dispense a dose from the integrated order into a package associated with a time at which the dose is to be consumed.

Claims

1. A system for packaging a plurality of tablets corresponding to at least one prescription, the system comprising:

a graphical user interface configured to receive a first prescription input associated with first plurality of tablets associated with a particular patient;

a first image generated by scanning the first prescription input;

a second prescription input for a second plurality of tablets associated with the particular patient that is received by the graphical user interface;

a second image generated by scanning the second prescription input;

an integrated order generated by combining the first prescription input and the second prescription input;

a filling system configured to receive the integrated order, the filling system configured to dispense a first dose from the first plurality of tablets and a second dose from the second plurality of tablets into a plurality of primary containers, in which at least one primary container includes a first tablet and a second tablet;

a verification input that is presented after the prescription inputs, wherein a positive verification input generates the integrated order;

a first integrated label associated with each primary container having information regarding the tablets in the first prescription input and the second prescription input;

a secondary container configured to receive a plurality of primary containers, in which each secondary container is associated with a same time according to the prescription inputs.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising a bar code associated with the secondary container, wherein the bar code associates the tablets in the secondary container with a particular patient.

3. The system of claim 2, further comprising a second integrated label used to label the secondary container, wherein the secondary container comprises a plurality of primary medicament containers.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the graphical user interface is further configured to receive a code indicating a frequency and time of dosage for the tablets.

5. A system for packaging a plurality of tablets corresponding to at least one prescription, the system comprising:

a graphical user interface configured to receive a first prescription input for a plurality of tablets associated with a particular patient;

an first image produced by scanning the first prescription input associated with the plurality of tablets;

a second prescription input for a second plurality of tablets associated with the particular patient that is received by the graphical user interface;

a second image generated by scanning the second prescription input;

a code indicating a frequency and time of dosage for each of the prescription input;

an integrated order generated by combining the first prescription input, the second prescription input, and the code indicating a frequency and time of dosage for the tablets;

a filling system configured to receive the integrated order, the filling system configured to dispense at least one of the first plurality of tablets and at least one of the second plurality of tablets into a primary container according to the time of dosage for each prescription input; and

a secondary container configured to receive a plurality of primary containers, in which each secondary container is associated with a same time according to the prescription inputs.

6. The system of claim 5 wherein the first image and the second image are configured to be overlaid with notations.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein the notations exist in a removable layer, the graphical user interface configured to allow display or removal of the layer containing the notations.

8. The system of claim 5 further comprising a verification input that is presented after the prescription inputs, wherein a positive verification input generates the integrated order.

9. The system of claim 5 further comprising a secondary container label.

10. The system of claim 9 further comprising a bar code disposed on the secondary label, wherein the bar code associates the tablets in the secondary container with a particular patient.

11. The system of claim 5, further comprising a primary container label associated with the primary container, the label comprising information about each tablet in the primary container.

12. A method for integrating a plurality of tablets corresponding to at least one prescription, the method comprising:

receiving with a graphical user interface a first prescription input for a first plurality of tablets associated with a particular patient;

receiving with the graphical user interface a second prescription input for a second plurality of tablets associated with a particular patient;

receiving a code that indicates a frequency and a time of dosage for each prescription input;

generating an integrated order based on the first prescription input, the second prescription input, and the code that indicates a frequency and a time of dosage for each prescription input;

communicating the integrated order to the filling system;

dispensing with the filling system at least one of the first plurality of tablets and at least one of the second plurality of tablets into at least one primary container according to the time of dosage for each prescription input;

filling a secondary container with a plurality of primary containers, wherein the secondary container includes a bar code that associates the tablets in the secondary container with the particular patient; and

filling the secondary container with primary containers associated with a particular time of day.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising displaying with a graphical user interface a first image generated by scanning the first prescription input and a second image generated by scanning the second prescription input.

14. The method of claim 12, further comprising coupling a first integrated label to the primary container, the first integrated label including information about the first prescription input and the second prescription input.

15. The method of claim 12 further comprising a second integrated label that includes information about each tablet within the secondary container.

16. The method of claim 12 further comprising presenting a verification input after the prescription inputs, wherein a positive verification input generates the integrated order.
