1. A computer-implemented dynamic data filtering method, said method comprising the steps of:
- calibrating at least one data filter having at least one statistically based test for defining at least one predefined criterion of good data quality wherein the calibrating includes utilizing initial asset operating data values to define an initial scope of operation of an asset;
acquiring additional asset operating data values for an additional operation of the asset; and
filtering the acquired additional asset operating data values using the at least one data filter utilizing the at least one statistically based test to define the at least one predefined criterion of good data quality for selectively choosing asset operating data values that meet the at least one predefined criterion of good data quality;
segregating the selectively chosen asset operating data values that meet the at least one predefined criterion of good data quality; and
storing the segregated selectively chosen asset operating data values that meet the at least one predefined criterion of good data quality for subsequent use in adjusting the learned scope of at least one previously trained model.

Abstract
A computer-implemented dynamic data filtering system and method for selectively choosing operating data of a monitored asset that modifies or expands a learned scope of an empirical model of normal operation of the monitored asset while simultaneously rejecting operating data of the monitored asset that is indicative of excessive degradation or impending failure of the monitored asset, and utilizing the selectively chosen data for adaptively recalibrating the empirical model to more accurately monitor asset aging changes or operating condition changes of the monitored asset.
