1. A method for recreating known emergent information, comprising:

  • storing initial data from an array of sensors at an array location in a database, wherein the sensors includes multiple sensor types;

    developing multiple data patterns that are based on the stored initial data and pattern rules, wherein each of the data patterns is based on creation of specific data of specific data types from the sensors within a predefined time limit, and wherein each of the specific data of specific data types is associated with a different one of the multiple sensor types;

    ranking the multiple data patterns according to historic accuracy of each of the multiple data patterns in creating a known emergent information;

    applying newly received data to a highest-ranked one of the data patterns to recreate the known emergent information;

    performing a response to address the known recreated emergent information, wherein the array location is on a coastline, and wherein the array of sensors includes two or more of a weather sensor, a thermal sensor, a video camera, a radar system, and an audio sensor and the known emergent information is initially created by;

    programming each of the sensors with different trigger rules that describe a local condition that must be met for each of the sensors to trigger an event signal to remaining ones of the sensors;

    programming each of the sensors with different relationship rules that describe a hierarchy of communication control among the sensors, wherein each of the relationship rules define how each of the sensors communicates with remaining ones of the sensors, and wherein one the sensors is configured to report, at any given time, new emergent information for all of the sensors in the array of sensors;

    activating the array of sensors, wherein each of the sensors is configured with multiple different trigger rules that are used in creating different emergent information, and wherein the trigger rules are different for each of the multiple sensor types; and

    in response to conditions at the array location causing a predetermined percentage of sensors to trigger event signals, generating current emergent information about the array location, wherein the current emergent information describes current conditions at the array location, and wherein the current emergent information exists only when the predetermined percentage of the sensors trigger event signals;

    wherein the response to address the current emergent information is performed by a local controller at the array location using a consolidation of trigger rules from the array of sensors; and

    updating, from a remote controller, the trigger rules and the relationship rules for each of the sensors.
