1. An integrated circuit (IC) comprises:

  • a first processing module configured to function as a first portion of a communication stack of a corresponding wireless communication protocol to produce an outbound wireless symbol stream, to convert an inbound signal into an inbound symbol stream, and to perform a codec function;

    a second processing module configured to function as a remaining portion of the communication stack of the corresponding wireless communication protocol to produce outbound wireless network data to the first processing module to produce the outbound wireless symbol stream from outbound data, and to produce an inbound signal from inbound data from the first processing module based upon the inbound symbol stream;

    a third processing module configured to;

    perform a user application that processes at least one of the inbound signal and an outbound signal; and

    perform an operating system algorithm to coordinate an operation of the user application.
