1. An integrated perfusion system comprising:
- a disposable element, the disposable element including an RFID tag that is programmed with information describing volumetric operational settings of the disposable element; and
a heart lung machine includinga plurality of pump modules, each pump module including a control unit;
a controller in communication with each of the pump module control units;
an input device in communication with the controller and configured to accept operational settings information from a user;
an output device in communication with the controller and configured to display operational parameters of the plurality of pump modules; and
an RF sensor in communication with the controller, the RF sensor configured to retrieve the information describing volumetric operational settings of the disposable element from the RFID tag and communicate the information to the controller;
wherein the controller uses the information describing volumetric operational settings of the disposable element to determine a working blood volume for the heart lung machine.

Abstract
A perfusion system is easy to set-up, use and monitor during a bypass procedure. At least some of the disposable components used with the perfusion system are configured to be able to communicate set-up and/or operational parameters to the perfusion system. A blood level sensor can be used to monitor a blood level or volume within a blood reservoir.
