Remote control for hose operation
First Claim
1. A household water hose system, comprising:
- a flow controller having an inlet, an outlet, a fluid flow path defined between the inlet and outlet, and an electrically actuated valve positioned to selectively open or close the fluid flow path, the flow controller operably and fluidly connectable to a water faucet of a building;
a water hose reel device configured for household water operation, the hose reel device comprising a housing and a rotatable spool member onto which a garden water hose can be wound;
an electrically controllable motor connected to rotate the spool member in wind and unwind directions;
a garden hose having a proximal end connected to the spool member, the hose being in fluid communication with the outlet of the flow controller, wherein the hose is configured to be wound upon the spool member, the hose configured to protrude through an aperture in the housing;
electronic components in communication with the valve and the motor; and
a wireless remote control configured to transmit wireless command signals to the electronic components for controlling the valve and the motor, wherein the wireless remote control is selectively mountable to a distal end of the hose or used as a hand-held remote separate from the hose by the user, the wireless remote control having one or more buttons actuatable by the user by a single tap of said one or more buttons to turn on or turn off water flow through the distal end of the hose and to actuate the electrically controlled motor to wind or unwind the hose,wherein the housing completely encompasses the rotatable spool member, the electrically controllable motor and the flow controller.

Abstract
A hose control system is provided. A flow controller has an inlet, an outlet, a fluid flow path defined between the inlet and outlet, and an electrically actuated valve positioned to selectively open or close the fluid flow path. A hose reel device comprises a rotatable spool member onto which a hose can be wound. An electrically controllable motor is connected to rotate the spool member in wind and unwind directions. A hose has a proximal end connected to the spool member. The hose is in fluid communication with the outlet of the flow controller and is configured to be wound upon the spool member. Electronic components are in communication with the valve and the motor. A wireless remote control is configured to transmit wireless command signals to the electronic components for controlling the valve and the motor. The remote control is mounted near a distal end of the hose.
