1. A computer-implemented method of implementing a touch screen of an electronic device, the method comprising:

  • facilitating communication between a processor and a plurality of transparent sensors overlaid on top of a visual display that is associated with the electronic device to form the touch screen, each transparent sensor configured to be responsive to touch by at least one user finger, and the visual display for rendering visual information provided by the electronic device;

    associating control parameters with sensor measurements sensed by the plurality of transparent sensors; and

    assigning the control parameters to specific control signals to allow user interaction with the electronic device by touching the touch screen, the touching producing the sensor measurements by the plurality of transparent sensors;

    wherein the control parameters include parameters derived from recognizing a finger-flick touch gesture, the finger-flick touch gesture recognized from a sequence of postures with specific dynamic variations among them, the sequence of postures being recognized from pressure profiles.
