1. A method of processing broadcast data in a broadcast receiver, the method comprising:

  • receiving a broadcast signal comprising a group, the group including mobile service data, fast information channel (FIC) data, transmission parameter channel (TPC) data and known data sequences, wherein the FIC data includes information for rapid mobile service acquisition, wherein the TPC data includes FIC version information for indicating an update of the FIC data, wherein the mobile service data is included in a Reed-Solomon (RS) frame belonging to an ensemble, and wherein the ensemble comprises a signaling information table including access information of the mobile service data and identification information for identifying a stream where keys to decrypt the mobile service data are obtained;

    demodulating the received broadcast signal;

    compensating channel distortion generated in the demodulated broadcast signal based upon at least one of the known data sequences;

    decoding the FIC data and the TPC data from the channel distortion compensated broadcast signal;

    extracting the signaling information table from the channel distortion compensated broadcast signal;

    identifying the stream where the keys to decrypt the mobile service data are obtained using the extracted signaling information table; and

    decrypting the mobile service data using the keys,wherein the group further includes data blocks,wherein a first known data sequence of the known data sequences is inserted into a third data block of the data blocks,wherein a second known data sequence and a third known data sequence of the known data sequences are inserted into a fourth data block of the data blocks,wherein a fourth known data sequence of the known data sequences is inserted into a fifth data block of the data blocks,wherein a fifth known data sequence of the known data sequences is inserted into a sixth data block of the data blocks, andwherein a sixth known data sequence of the known data sequences is inserted into a seventh data block of the data blocks.
